Driver Safety
Ashford Borough Council and the Department for Transport recognise the difficult work performed by the licensed taxi trade, especially in dealing with issues surrounding keeping drivers safe.
We therefore encourage all drivers to read the following information, and liaise with operators/employers, about the measures that can be taken to improve driver safety (for example, though the provision and use of in car CCTV systems).
The Department for Transport have issued the following guidance for drivers on staying safe;
In addition, they have also published the following Notice to Passengers, which you may wish to consider installing in booking offices, or adapting to install in vehicles where they have suitable display space;
