Meet the Team

Victoria Henham

Vicki is our Senior Property Manager and she started working for the council in June 2003. Three years later she left her customer services role and moved into the housing team. She worked for six years as one of the council’s landlord liaison officers until 2012, when the council’s social lettings agency, ABC Lettings, was launched.

Much of the success of ABC Lettings has been due to the strong working relationships Vicki has built with landlords since joining housing.

Vicki said: “Over the last 10 years ABC Lettings has really evolved, although we had to change the original specification of the fully managed product I believe we still offer landlords excellent value for money. I am extremely fortunate to have a team who share my vision and passion and am immensely proud of what we have achieved. We have changed the lives of so many families which is what motivates me to continue growing the business.  Although I have stepped away from the day to day management of properties I will always be contactable to our landlords who are at the heart of what we do”

Cornelia Wilson

Cornelia has over 12 years of experience as a property manager, she started within a high street lettings agency covering private lettings to both professionals and a large student market in Canterbury and the surrounding villages. She looked after more than 200 properties during her time in the private sector in a fast paced market. In 2017 she joined the council looking for a new challenge.

Cornelia works with landlords in the Folkestone and Hythe district which also covers the Romney Marsh, at times including Dover. Since joining, she has more than doubled the property portfolio and has built many new landlord relationships, adapting the service to suit their individual needs.

Cornelia is a problem solver who is adaptable and says: "I love the sense of satisfaction when taking on a new property and being able to help a family in need, some people just need a chance as many struggle to find a home due to circumstances beyond their control. Secondly building new relationships and knowing that a landlord can see the good in the service and product that ABC offer, It’s a real sense of achievement."

Sarah Hall

One of our assistant property managers is Sarah Hall. She has worked for the housing team of Ashford Borough Council since 2004, and moved over to ABC Lettings in 2017, Sarah looks after the repairs and administrative aspect of our service, and is the first point of contact for landlords and tenants.

Sarah loves the variety of the work that comes with the job as no two days are ever the same.

Ellie Ludford

Ellie started working at Ashford Borough Council in 2018 as a Property Manager and changed roles in 2022 to a Procurement Officer.

Explaining what drives her, Ellie explains: "I have always had a passion for property and for helping others. As a result I get great satisfaction in my job role from being able to prevent homelessness and helping families that may have fallen on hard times. It gives me great pleasure to see a family make a house a home and get back on their feet.

"I love building rapport with landlords and walking them through every step of the process. It can be difficult for landlords to keep up with the ever changing legislation involved with letting a property and that is why we are here to help."

Kerry Godfrey

Kerry joined the ABC Lettings team in November 2022 as an Assistant Property Manager. With an academic background in sociology and social policy, and ample experience of renting through the private sector, Kerry is adept at understanding the challenges confronting landlords and tenants in the current climate.

Kerry has moved over from Assistant Property Manager to Procurement Assistant. Kerry works alongside Ellie Ludford aiming to increase the ABC Lettings portfolio to help reduce homelessness in the area.

Lee Brown

Lee joined the Council in 2020, initially overseeing their private sector property portfolio but is now a valued member of the ABC Lettings team. Lee previously worked for a decade with High Street letting agents based in Ashford so he has extensive knowledge of the local market and is very experienced in understanding the economic needs of landlords. Lee thrives on a professional approach with attention to detail and organisational skills to improve the management service we provide.

Louise Jones

Louise has worked for Ashford Borough Council since 2012. She joined as a Benefits Officer then moved over to the Housing Options team as a Tenancy Sustainment Officer during the pandemic before finally joining the ABC Lettings team in September 2021.

Louise loves the diversity and challenges that each day brings and, enjoys meeting new landlords and tenants.
