Election of a Borough Councillor for Aylesford & East Stour Ward
- An election will be held to elect one Borough Councillor for the Aylesford & East Stour ward of Ashford Borough Council.
- Forms of nomination for the Borough election may be obtained at the Civic Centre, Tannery Lane, Ashford, Kent, TN23 1PL from the Returning Officer who will, at the request of an elector for any electoral area prepare a nomination paper for signature.
- Nomination papers must be delivered to the Acting Returning Officer, Electoral Services Office, Civic Centre, Tannery Lane, Ashford, Kent, TN23 1PL on any day after the date of this notice between the hours of 10am and 4pm but no later than 4 pm on Friday, 20 September 2024.
- If the election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 17 October 2024.
- Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by midnight on Tuesday 1 October 2024. Applications can be made online at the UK Government register to vote web page.
- Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at, Civic Centre, Tannery Lane, Ashford, Kent, TN23 1PL by 5pm on Wednesday, 2 October 2024. Applications can be made online at the UK Government apply for a postal vote web page.
- Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Civic Centre, Tannery Lane, Ashford, Kent, TN23 1PL by 5pm on Wednesday, 9 October 2024. Some applications to vote by proxy can be made online at the UK Government apply for a proxy vote web page.
- Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Civic Centre, Tannery Lane, Ashford, Kent, TN23 1PL by 5pm on Wednesday, 9 October 2024.
- Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at, Civic Centre, Tannery Lane, Ashford, Kent, TN23 1PL by 5pm on Thursday, 17 October 2024.
