Citizens' Panel
Join Our Citizens’ Panel
Our citizens’ panel is an opportunity for you to have your voice heard by decision makers within the council. You can tell us your views about the services and issues that matter to you, and we'll listen to your feedback and look for ways to improve. We'll give you regular updates on what changes have been made as a result of that feedback.
To be a panel member, you must:
- live in Ashford Borough
- be aged 16 or older
It's quick and easy to sign up and start helping to shape decisions with your feedback.
How the panel works
We ask for your feedback through a maximum of six surveys and engagement exercises a year. This will mostly be online, although there may be some occasions when we invite panel members to take part in research carried out by telephone, or in face-to-face focus groups or one-to-one interviews.
You can choose what you take part in and you do not have to respond to everything that we send you.
The role is unpaid, but as a thank you for taking part you will have the opportunity to enter a regular prize draw.
The sorts of things we want to hear your views on may include:
- local services and amenities
- how we travel, both now and in the future
- community safety in your area
- the local environment and climate change
- how we can create opportunities for jobs and growth
- the mental and physical health of people in the Borough.
If you would like to join the Citizens' Panel but require an alternative format (e.g. hard copy sign up form/ consultation papers), please get in touch using our contact details at the bottom of this page.
