Apprentices

The Public Sector Apprenticeship Targets Regulations 2017 require local authorities, who employ more than 250 employees, to employ an average of at least 2.3% of their staff as new apprentice starts over the period 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2021.

Although we are out of the target period of 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2022, public bodies are encouraged to continue to report their progress around the following areas:

  • Total number of new apprenticeship starts
  • Total number of apprentices
  • Organisation headcount
