Timescales
The time it takes to determine an application generally depends on the type and scale of the application. For example, a decision on a Householder application for an extension will be made quicker than a major strategic application for 200+ houses. There are however, statutory timeframes set by Government. Performance of the Local Planning Authority is measured against these timeframes however, there are various other mitigating circumstances that may mean these timeframes are extended.
The following document provides an overview of some of the most frequent application types and their statutory determination timeframes.
