Council preparing for move from Civic Centre to International House
Published: 18/11/2024Plans for Ashford Borough Council’s move from the Civic Centre building in Tannery Lane to International House are on track.
Taking place in phases, our main back office will be moving across, including our customer service reception, which will open to welcome residents before the end of the year.
Contractors have been on site since the summer preparing the existing office space at International House for our move across to our new base, which will take place in stages, so we can keep any disruption to services to a minimum.
For residents this means that, when we move, our face-to-face customer services will be located at International House in Dover Place, opposite Ashford International Station, but otherwise there should be no other changes to the services we deliver.
We will provide more details as the move progresses, so please keep an eye on our website, social channels and Ashford For You magazine. The exact timing for our move and further details will also be on display in our Civic Centre reception.
Next year, future plans for the Civic Suite, including the Council Chamber and Mayor’s Parlour, as well as our Monitoring Centre, will be explored further.
Regarding the future of the Civic Centre site, we are working on options for that part of the project and further details are likely to come forward in the future.
