Permanent recruitment

The council has its own in-house recruitment team and sources candidates via advertising on its website or in trade press.  We do not regularly use recruitment agencies for our permanent recruitment and therefore our operations managers are not able to take unsolicited sales calls. 

Occasionally we use recruitment agencies for permanent recruitment when we have not been able to source candidates directly. Such usage is arranged by the HR team who can be contacted on recruitment@ashford.gov.uk.

Temporary recruitment

We have a preferred supplier arrangement for our temporary recruitment split into two Lots. Both contracts run until March 2029 when we will be re-tendering - sign up to Kent Business Portal and set up alerts if your agency is interested in the future.

We do not accept speculative CVs from other agencies. A recruiting manager can only go outside this contract if the preferred suppliers cannot source candidates after a reasonable timeframe, with formal approval from the HR Manager.
