Pilgrims Hospices Summer Fair success at Sandyacres
Published: 31/07/2025
Communities combined as hundreds attended the Pilgrims Hospices annual Summer Fair on Sunday 27th July, held at Sandyacres Sports and Social Club, where over £17,000 was raised for the charity - despite the huge downpour late in the afternoon!
Visitors enjoyed the delights of the Summer Fair, browsing stalls that were selling puzzles, crafts, children’s toys, and gifts.
Music filled the air, with a wonderful session from Jo Nicoll and Radio Ashford’s very own Sam Griffin and Webbo doing a set.
The Pilgrims Hopsice refreshment stall served delicious treats, that included cream teas and cakes and the BBQ was very well received.
In addition, Faversham Ices kindly sold ice creams, donated by Consort, so that 100% of the sales went to the hospice.
Many local companies showed their support and donated towards the Grand Draw, tombola's and stalls, along with Pilgrim Hospice's media partners.
Pilgrims Community Fundraising Manager for Ashford, Louise Newman, said: “We are so very grateful to all our wonderful supporters for visiting our Summer Fair this year and to all the amazing volunteers that helped us make it all happen.
"Our lovely communities are always so very generous - whether they donate items or offer to lend a hand on the day, their kindness makes such a difference to our patients and their families”.
With the generosity of the community, Pilgrims Hospice are able to make a difference to those who are facing life-limiting illnesses and ensure they, along with their families, are at the heart of all they do.
Pilgrims Hospice would also like to extend special thanks to AnnMarie Fuggle from Sandyacres Sports and Social Club, who donated the use of the venue and supported the event from start to finish.
As well, the hospice are especially grateful to the over 90 volunteers joined forces before, during and after the event to ensure its success.
The next Pilgrims Hospice fair is the Christmas one, which takes place on Saturday 22 November at Grosvenor Hall, Ashford.
