Support from the Government
Here you can find out information and links to government webpages that provide more information and support for the cost of living crisis.
Pension Credit
If you are over State Pension age, you could benefit from Pension Credit. It provides financial support and you could get additional help such as the Winter Fuel Payment. Visit the UK Government's web page on Pension Credit to find out more.
Household Support Fund
Funded by the UK government, the Household Support Fund scheme supports vulnerable Kent households in need of help with significantly rising living costs.
If you qualify and are successful, your household will be issued with vouchers to the value of £100 which can be redeemed towards food.
There is a limited amount of funding available the scheme and funds will be distributed on a first come, first served basis, with only one award per household. To find out more about eligibility and to apply visit KCC's Household Support Fund page.
Winter Fuel Payment
If you were born before 26 September 1956 you could get between £250 and £600, known as a ‘Winter Fuel Payment’, to help you pay your heating bills.
The amount you receive includes a ‘Pensioner Cost of Living Payment’ (which is between £150 and £300). This is in addition to any other Cost of Living Payments you receive with your benefit or tax credits.
