Work has been completed on new facilities at Waterside Sports and Children’s Centre.

The new building will be leased to Bromley Green FC, who currently operate out of the site in Turner Close, Ashford. The facilities include a lobby area, four football changing rooms, and officials’ changing room, a fully accessible changing room and accessible toilet, as well as a social area including a kitchen.

Funding for the project came from the Football Foundation, Ashford Borough Council and Bromley Green FC.

Cllr Matthew Forest, portfolio holder for culture, tourism and leisure, said: “Bromley Green FC is a growing club and has a strong connection to the local community and these new facilities will be a real boost to the area.”

David Homewood, Honorary Patron, on behalf of the Executive Committee BGFC, said: “We are delighted to welcome all our members and neighbours to our new facility at Waterside in South Willesborough. Formed in 1930, the club will continue to offer sport and recreation to all ages - plus increase its support to disabled and autistic children. In partnership with the Children’s Centre, the Swan Centre, the Football Foundation and Ashford Borough Council, the new building is a great addition to the communities of Willesborough and Newtown.”

The work was commissioned by Ashford Borough Council and completed by local Ashford company Lancaster Building.
