Keep Ashford Talking

Ashford Mediation Service is offering a great opportunity to learn new useful life skills and make a valuable contribution to your local community.

The Ashford-based charity is currently looking for volunteers to join its volunteer mediator team. No previous experience is required as full training is given.

Anyone interested is urged to visit https://ashfordmediation.co.uk to get a flavour of what they do and how they work with anybody in Ashford needing help with conflict resolution.

You can also watch their YouTube video about volunteering here

We look forward to hearing from you!

Free at the point of access to residents of Ashford, the Ashford Mediation Service helps to facilitate the resolution of conflict between neighbours over noise, boundary and anti-social behaviour issues, intergenerational conflict, child access disputes, work-place disputes and disputes between youth.

The aims of the Service are to help prevent the escalation of conflict, which in turn reduces likely intervention by the police and social services. Tackling conflict at an early stage can help to prevent breakdown in relationships and reduce homelessness and crime.

The Ashford Mediation Service works with a range of partners including Ashford Borough Council, Kent Police, Relate, Citizen’s Advice, Dad’s Unlimited, Kent County Council and others.
